Wow! What a journey it’s already been!
By now, some of you may know I’ve been considering a year long mission trip, while for many, this may be the first you‘ve heard about it. All this started about a month and a half ago when I was telling my sister about other options besides college straight after high school. I wanted to encourage her that college or the work field wasn’t the only option because I wished I had known that. So that then led to the thought of “Why can’t I“ which then led to encouragement from a couple others to just apply. The process from applying to where I am now has been quite the rollercoaster ride! From encouragement from some & discouragement from others, I’ve reached the point of decision. Through a couple times of telling myself I was going to say no & not go, each time I’ve had something that kept me going forward. So here I am at the point of having to really make a decision, but then again is it really my decision? Honestly, I still have mixed feelings about going or not going & would kind of rather stay than go, because that’s what makes more sense to me & what would be the easier, more comfortable thing to do. But I want this to be the Lord’s decision & not my own. (Proverbs 3:5-6) The one thing I’ve learned most about the Lord while living on my own is that, the Lord always provides what we need when we need it. So if it’s the Lord’s will for me to go then I believe He will provide & if it’s not His will for me to go then He will not provide the funds to go, but will provide me with what I need right where I’m at. The Lord tells us to go and make disciples of all nation, but we can’t overlook that we’re called to do missions right where God has us too. Missions isn’t only for overseas or places we don’t live, it’s for ALL nations (including right where you’re at), but if called to go then you must go.
So what’s next & who, what, when, where, how?
Good question;
It’s called World Race where people ages 21-35 come together for 11 months to share the good news with others all around the world and to be the hands & feet of God. We will go to four different regions with different ministry opportunities in the surrounding areas. We will leave the beginning of January 2022 & come back late November.
From now until then, I will be raising the funds needed to be able to go (if that’s the Lord’s will). Funds will go towards food, lodging & travel, & the rest will be up to me. Other ways you can support me is through PRAYER (I definitely appreciate all the prayers & will need them all throughout this journey!!).
